Is the license valid throughout Croatia?
Yes. The Croatian sea fishing license is issued nationally by the Ministry of Agriculture (Uprava ribarstva) and is valid along the entire Croatian Adriatic coast, including all islands. Freshwater fishing in rivers and lakes requires a separate permit from the relevant fishing association.
Do children need a fishing license?
Children under 14 may fish in Croatia without their own license, but only with a single rod or line and accompanied by an adult. From age 14, a fishing license is mandatory. For spearfishing (harpoon), the age limit is 16 and a separate permit is required.
