Fishing on the island of Dugi otok
Planning to fish on the island of Dugi otok? This elongated island on the edge of the Zadar archipelago has steep cliffs on the west that drop into deep sea, with the Kornati islands within reach. You can fish from shore and from a boat. Common catches here include common dentex, gilt-head sea bream, and greater amberjack.
The deep water below the Telašćica cliffs and on the edge of the Kornati is rewarding for catching big predators from a boat, while the calm coves around Sali and the beach of Sakarun are good for shore fishing. Note that special rules apply in the Telašćica nature park and in the Kornati park. The fishing is best in spring and autumn.
